Math Resource Studio Online

29/6/2010 Unitron Italy

Li vicino si trovano tra SCT: un C8 messo a terra (poverino, we hope that no one will give him a kick in error!), an 8 "fork altazimuth Meade (I do not know that series, I think LX90), and the new etx 6", in short, the telescope if you do not want to do anything, and I do not like this because it is a tele suited to use only visual scheme despite advanced coma free, expensive and ipermegasupercomputerizzato, by pointing to science fiction and tens of thousands of objects in memory, which obviously will never miss the space.
But perhaps, the more that caught my attention for the price and manageability still relatively affordable was the TEC 160 triplet on CGEM, an apochromatic refractor among the best in U.S. Celestron mounts on a world class one EQ6 but with better electronics, but of course I did not ask the price, certainly too high, but I tried the focuser, the legendary feather touch (I think) a 4 ", really a monster fluidity and elegance.
In another room there were more affordable tools: One I was very intrigued by the strangeness of the optical, three I liked, the other is like what I have (the altazimuth 80ED ) and others were small catadioptric.
From these, one was the small NexStar C5, one of the photographers of eclipses, and the other on its new rival, the 127 mak SynScan, both are nice but better apo as my manual.
The three that I liked were: SW 12 dobson "autotraking, the MN 190/1000 acre and a 100mm refractor f13, 3.
The Dobsonian was beautiful and I expected a little smaller in size. The mak
newton was miraculously straight up from a HEQ5, with whom Ra from his best ever, especially in photography.
The refractor was very nice and well done, especially the focuser Baader Planetarium.
tool turned out to be a strange old project polarex Unitron-80s, a 102 mm refractor with two mirrors rendrelo more compact, since the classical achromatic long aroused problemini size.
Outside I had a chat with Adrian and ras, two great astronomers.
Adrian has an impressive collection of refractors in an 8 "f12, who knows that stuff ... observe
When Andrea is free we tend to see upstairs, which displays two instruments used: a magnificent TEC 140ED on Astrophysics 600gto by price quite affordable, and a beautiful Zeiss achromatic refractor of 10 cm, a true jewel of optics and mechanics.
Azz, refractor ... damn

Test SW 80ED blak diamond

OUT OF THE BOX

arrival, the telescope is tightly sealed in a sturdy cardboard box, once opened, reveals a stylish and practical aluminum case, which is located inside the instrument.

I must say that I was not very impressed at first glance, in fact the tube is very solid, the same used for the 100ED, shiny black, with white ends.

The long hood is nice, not retracting, the fuochggiatore has two speeds (both very fluid) and a locking screw.

the clear doublet of 80 mm Schott glass has a positive element for the crown and an anti-reflective coating called MHC, green in color, with a declared trasmessività of 99.5%.

The budget includes a suitcase, a great 9x50 achromatic finder, a diagonal of 2, "a WA eyepiece 28 mm 2" and an extension.

few days later I get a good altazimuth mount, the vixen door, ordered on purpose to hold that eighth, after the baptism of the telescope with the rain comes the moment of first light.

The diffraction pattern is perfect, no residual secondary spectrum, spherical aberration, roughness, zonal errors absent.

then assembled the 28 mm eyepiece that came and began to observe.

the edge of the field is known, however, a slight hint of astigmatism, probably due to the curvature of field, since the focal length of only 600 mm.

is late autumn, and my first target is the Pleiades, which look beautiful in all their entirety, revealing a host of stars with a stellar point striking.

Quindi imbarco la montatura e mi porto appresso la valigia with the lens inside.

arrival are captured by a tropical monsoon, the island with the clouds is still spectacular and picturesque, like the rainforest, but the sky is a bit 'less.

Fortunately, a two nights to observe I always find, drawing considerable satisfaction.

At dusk, around 18:30, I start with a nearly full moon low on the horizon, and the first vision I hold my breath because the image is of a deadly conflict, despite the high property of a few degrees, the facts here are two: telescopio è un portento e da queste parti il seeing è sempre ottimo.

Purtroppo riesco a osservare veramente poco perché quella sera la luna è proprio davanti a me.

Il mio primo oggetto è un classico dei cieli australi, ossia l'immenso complesso nebulare della carena, che appare evidente già ad occhio nudo, molto nice and detailed with my 7X50 binoculars zeiss nell'ottantino and absolutely breathtaking, rich in detail and set in a beautiful field of stars, lots of brushing in the individual open clusters, also shown on the maps that show!

My next target is NGC4755, the cluster jewelry: small and compact, very pretty, with blue-white components and a red giant mag. 6.

Another bell'ammasso is IC 2602, also known as the Southern Pleiades, are also fantastic NGC 2451, NGC 2477 and NGC 3532.

The only Centaurus A galaxy is observed, very beautiful, and always in that constellation, the globular cluster Omega Centauri, partially resolved, like 47 Tucanae and NGC 4833.

A high-altitude

Around January I have also enabled a better output at high altitude along with two amateur astronomers with the gso 10 "and 16"

The objects observed were the usual M42, M43, M78, M35, M45, M36, M 37, M38, M103 and the double cluster in Perseus.

CONCLUSIONE

Si tratta di uno strumento eccellente, magnifico per le osservazioni a grande field, eclipses, for photography and travel as a tool.

Also recommended as a first telescope, to start with something of quality.

Highs:

Excellent optical

competitive price

Robustness

Defects:

quite massive, but this is in favor of a great strength.

Cat Bowel Obstruction

Let the adventure begin!

Quelle visioni mi lasciarono molte belle emozioni ma anche un sense of dissatisfaction caused by the difficulty of targeting and instability of the system, so much so that I spent many pleasant hours watching the naked eye.
and continues to grow in those years I gained a lot of theoretical knowledge about the most diverse fields of astronomy, both amateur and not.
Then last summer I decided to make a big step forward, buying a classic HEQ5 on C8.
Compared to the old canvas was definitely a big step forward, and thanks to it I made many observations, being able to appreciate the merits and found the flaws and limitations of this view (which probably will analyze below). Later I heard
